Beverly resident breaks pumpkinseed sunfish record in West Virginia

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources announced that Sierra Adamson of Beverly broke the recently set pumpkinseed sunfish record on July 14.

Adamson’s record-breaking sunfish was 9.13 inches and weighed 0.62 pounds. She caught it from the Tygart Valley River in Randolph County.

The previous record was set on June 25 by Ken Neer of Morgantown. Neer caught a 9.09-inch, 0.60-pound pumpkinseed sunfish from Fairfax Pond in Preston County.
