HOUSE PASSES SENATE-NEGOTIATED FY26 ENERGY & WATER DEVELOPMENT APPROPRIATIONS BILL TO FUND CORPS OF ENGINEERS’ CIVIL WORKS PROGRAM AS PART OF MINIBUS BILL

Today, the House passed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Energy and Water Development (E&WD) and Related Agencies Appropriations Act that was negotiated with the Senate. E&WD was part of a minibus appropriations package with the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Interior and Environment appropriations bills.

Inland waterways construction projects funded in the minibus include:

$183.83 million for Montgomery Lock on the Upper Ohio (requested by Representatives Reschenthaler and Deluzio and Senators McCormick and Fetterman)

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) account received $6.013 billion, a $460 million increase above last year’s enacted levels. The bill included an additional $7.35 million for the Monongahela River (requested by Representative Reschenthaler).
